ParkRide – Whitlingham
The Pedal Revolution Community Interest Company has announced its latest series of Parkride events, at the Whitlingham Country Park, running every Saturday. The scheme has the aim of attracting new riders, returning riders and families to the sport, which can have a long-term impact on the health of those involved.
The Parkride initiative offers a 3-mile ride, which is free from traffic, to ensure families and new riders can feel safe riding in the beautiful Whitlingham Country Park setting without fear of putting themselves in danger. Riders are encouraged to bring their own bikes along, but there is a fleet of loan bikes available at each ParkRide session for people to borrow.
Helen Rainbow from the Redal Revolution CIC said: "We have a simple registration process, we allocate you a ParkRide card and number and that is it – just turn up, ride and clock up some miles. We are developing the software that will allow us to record your miles and for you to be motivated by the growing number of completed rides and miles blissfully clicking by.
"The ride is free to enter and thanks to our partners at Whitlingham Broads Trust, Pushing Ahead and Active Norfolk so is the bike loan. It has never been easier to get on a bike and unlock the benefits of an active lifestyle.".
The ParkRide sessions start at 10am on 19th January and run every Saturday morning thereafter. Pre-registration is now open and is totally free. Visit www.pedalrevolution.co.uk/events/park-ride to find out more and register.
