Still on the Go – Mixed Exercise Session Next Steps (55+)
Still On the go offers opportunities for people who are 55 or over to take part in sessions with people of similar age and want to get back into exercise or are new to it. The groups have a mixture of people, some never done these sort of sessions before but want something to help them with strength, fitness, lose weight, that that they can fit into the week and be flexible and that are fun.
The sessions take place at Riverside leisure centre, which has swim sessions, Aqua Jog, Guided Gym use, Sunday Aerobics and Core strengthening/circuits sessions. There are other instructor led exercise sessions taking place in different sheltered housing schemes across Norwich which are for not just for those who live there. The session are not gentle but the instructors tailor to individuals ability, people do what they can. We have at least one session running every day except Saturday.
To qualify for these free sessions, you must be 55 or over and currently do less than 30 Minutes moderate intensity exercise a week. This does not include gardening, walking, be out and about, but means sports and exercises that leave you short of breath. Once registered, there is no need to book, just go to what you can.
